Back to nature
The main aim of our tourism offer is to have plenty of green areas and a high standard of cleanliness. This pursue has already born fruit, as Bibione has over the years been awarded with the “Bandiera Blu”, the important European award by the FEE. As much as 15km length of beaches belong to the city. This wide and charming shore is characterized by sand of Dolomite origin and extends from the splendid Vallesina in the south, to the mouth of the river “Tagliamento” in the north, which divides the region Veneto from the Friuli- Venezia region. The island of Bibione is connected to the rest of Italy by only one bridge for entrance and exit and this has made it possible for the territory to preserve its wildlife and environmental heritage intact: the flamingos, deers and boars from the Val Grande and the dolphins from the Gulf, which every year enter our waters to delight us with their dance, are a visible witness to that!
You should also give the thermal centre a try, which is only at 150m distance from the hotel and has a view on the Adriatic sea.
And if you’re travelling with your four-legged furry friend, you can require a sun umbrella on the beach “Pluto”, one of the best beaches for dogs in Italy.
Enjoy every second of you holiday!
Cultural tourism
Bibione is located in such a strategic position, that tourists can easily reach a plethora of cities with high historical and cultural relevance along the entire coastline of Veneto. Nearby to our island you can admire Venice with its lagoon and the cities of Murano, Burano and Torcello, just to mention a few. These are places where history, art and tradition come together to form a uniqueness which doesn’t need more words to explain. You should visit at least once the Baptistery in Concordia Sagitaria and the archeological site of the ancient Romans, or the romantic historical centre of Portogruaro, or the well known mosaics of Aquileia dating back to the III century. Then there is Villa Ivancich, Ernest Hemingway’s summer residence and cradle to many of his writings. And why not attend an opera in the Arena of Verona? It will give you an excellent opportunity to visit the city of Romeo and Juliet. Our inland will spellbind you with its astonishing beauty as well as its food-and-wine itineraries. A few of them have even become part of the UNESCO world heritage, such as the Prosecco-route in Valdobbiadene or the renown cellars in Lison and Pramaggiore, which are also available for guided tours in summer.
Bibione memories
The first accommodation facilities were built in the 50s and quickly changed the appearance of the city in Veneto, which until then had been characterized mainly by a large marshland. In 1960, the name Bibione becomes official and at the same time the place officially qualifies as a seaside resort. Real-estate developer Evelino Panzarin builds the Hotel Ariston, which welcomes its first guests in August 1965. Since then, it has had several substantial makeovers, just as the gorgeous location where it is located. With just a little less than 60 years since it was founded, Bibione is now more than ever an established tourist area: the first in line when it comes to the number of beds and for the last ten years one of the five most visited seaside locations in Italy. This data only confirms the skills, the far-sightedness and the professionalism of the active tour operators on the island. Re-live with us the moments and emotions of how the Venetian beach and our Hotel were born.
